The ensemble is made up of ringers who are recruited and chosen based on experience and audition. The ensemble has performed at many area and civic events, worship services and concerts, including the opening concert for the Area V Fall Festival/Conference in 1999, and again in 2002. The group has appeared on television twice, gone on several summer tours , and released a CD, As the Page Turns. In 1999, they gave the World Premier of Te Deum, a piece written for the group by former member, Dean Wagner. They ring six octaves of Malmark and Schulmerich bells, and five octaves of chimes. The Summit Bells rehearse every Monday evening at the First Presbyterian Church of Akron.
